Who I am

My name is Vy, and Ivy means “I am Vy”. I’m a female Millennial, who was born and grew up in Cholon, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The exotic place instills in me a pure joy at authentic cuisine and cultural diversity. I’ve traveled to over 100 cities in 12 countries. Linguistic conundrums and cultural conditioning are always sources of my amazement.

I’m a builder at heart. I delight in bringing Humans and Nature together, by one technology invention at a time. I’m lucky that my work is also my passion. Some of my inventions have been in use for over 15 years. I was among the pioneers in building competitive programming communities in Vietnam. At the early stage of my career, I majored in system modelling and program analysis.

After getting a Master’s degree in Japan, I returned to Vietnam and started my first business. Since then, my expertise has broadened beyond the engineering horizon. I’ve taken on a solutions architect role, who connects strategy, operation, and technology. The first commercial product my team built was traceability systems for automotive factories.

I exit this startup after 3 years, and started over with a renewed focus on Agriculture. Building digital products for Agriculture in Vietnam is an extreme challenge. We need to deal with a fragmented value chain and low digital maturity. To pursue approaches, I’ve joined the Cardano Blockchain Foundation and a venture builder. In that vein, I’ve realized the nuts and bolts of a sustainable business.

Now I’m getting back on the field and turning my business ideas into action.
